Our One Metre fin is now made by a slightly different process to our previous method. The skins are made of pre-preg carbon and the fin comes out of the mould already finished to section. At 120 grams the fins weigh about the same as before but are some 15% stiffer in bend and 50% stiffer in torsion. The integrity of the section shape is ensured by this system and the work to shape the leading and trailing edge is now unnecessary. The price of the finished to section fin is much the same as the previous version but the option of having a fin not finished to section is no longer available. |
