FAQs

How should I order sails?

Please order custom sails by using the order form on page 11 to give the information needed. If you send details in any other format please check that the relevant information is supplied, especially if the order is for CUSTOM sails. Lack of information causes delay and errors.

Please order IOM, M Series & Ten Rater Series sails by quoting the suit code and the other essential information i.e. mainsail luff finish, colour of reinforcement and tapes, etc.

How should I order other goods?

Other goods are best ordered by sending us a list of quantities and product codes. This saves time and reduces errors. Please note that some product codes have changed since 2007.

Are the goods in stock?

Almost all fittings, masts and building materials are normally in stock and leave within a few days of ordering.

Sails and moulded items are almost all made to order and may, in some circumstances, take longer than 30 days. Phone for details if the delivery date is crucial. In the unlikely event that we send substitute goods instead of what you ordered we will pay the return postage cost if you don't want them.

How long will the goods take to arrive?

None of the delivery services quoted for on page 31 gives a guaranteed delivery date. If this is crucial to you then please phone for a quotation for delivery by an alternative service. Larger and heavier packs sent by parcel post (typically those containing masts or ballasts) take much longer to arrive than small packs sent at the same time. Allow at least an extra 10 days for delivery.

Post & packing charges?

Postage/carriage and packing are charged in addition. The rates are given on page 31.

We take care to ensure our products are as well designed and made as possible. We want them to arrive with you in perfect condition so we spend a lot of time and effort packing them properly. The rates may seem rather high but we think it is a worthwhile investment, for us and for you.

Economies are made by sending goods in one pack if possible. Where an order comprises items which cannot be packed together e.g. sails, mast tubes, fittings, then the relevant separate charges apply and the goods will arrive separately. Goods sent by parcel post will take longer to arrive.

For how long are the prices valid?

All orders paid for on or before December 31st 2008 should be at these rates subject only to changes in the VAT rate, errors and omissions excepted. Check the 2009 prices before posting orders in late December 2008.

Cancellation?

Provided it is confirmed in writing you may cancel your order for goods, but not custom made goods, up to seven working days after their delivery. Should you wish to do so we ask you to return the goods at your own expense, taking care to pack them appropriately, and to use a recorded delivery service.

Customers outside the European Union...

If the goods are to be sent outside the European Union, deduct VAT from the total cost of the goods (except books) before adding postage. The amount deducted is currently 14.9%.
